Korg PA1000 on suunniteltu ammattimaiseen sävellystyöhön ja keikkailuun. Kaksi 33W vahvistinta ja neljä bassorefleksillä varustettua kaiutinta takaavat ensiluokkaisen äänentoiston. PA1000:n etupaneelia on virtaviivaistettu ja kontrollit on sijoitettu intuitiivisesti livetilanteita silmällä pitäen. Uudella kapasitiivisella TouchView näytöllä uusi graafinen käyttöjärjestelmä pääsee oikeuksiinsa entistä helppolukuisempana ja -käyttöisempänä vaativissakin olosuhteissa jonka lisäksi ruutu on käännettävä. Niin ikään uusittu etsimistoiminto helpottaa tyylien, settien ja songbookkien löytämistä ja niitä voi nyt soittaa suoraan USB:lta ilman laitteen muistiin lataamista.
PA1000:n 61-koskettiminen versio on varustettu puolipainotetuilla koskettimilla ja reagoi aftertouchiin ja painallusvoimakkuuteen.
Korgin EDS-X synteesiengine on PA1000:n ytimessä 1750 presetin voimin. Soundeja löytyy klassisista moderneihin kosketinsoittimiin, bändi- ja orkesterisoittimiin sekä elektronisiin ja akustisiin instrumentteihin teknosta folkkiin. Mukana on kaksi monikerroksista stereoflyygeliä (mallinnetulla vaimenninpedaalisoundilla ja runkoresonansseilla) sekä kiitetyillä sähköpianosoundeilla Korg SV-1 Stage Pianosta. Urkumallinnuksessa on koskettimen paino- ja irroitussoundi, vuoto- ja rotarykaiutinmallinnus.
